Regional Information
Mary Donnelly - Durham Regional Chair
Mary retired after 37 years as a Secondary School teacher, ending her rewarding career as a principal with the TDSB. To add more balance to her life spiritually, she became involved with the CWL at Sacred Heart Parish, Uxbridge.
Finding herself on a small executive after her first year, she, along with the other members had to cover the various positions. As soon as the new model for the CWL was proposed, Sacred Heart CWL moved quickly to adopt it. Involved in fundraisers, speaking at membership drives and organizing the Homelessness Initiative with the local community, Mary has been able to utilize her skills as a team member, a team leader, and a motivator to recognize and promote these skills in others.
Mary is an active participant in church and CWL celebrations and spiritual endeavours. Aside from her role in the CWL, Mary is also involved in Volunteer Screening and Pastoral Care at Sacred Heart which provide a greater connection to her faith community.
As a person of faith and Catholicism as her guiding light, she is grounded in a tradition of love, compassion and service to others. She cherishes her role as a family person, and enjoys spending time with her husband, her 2 daughters and their families. Her 4 grandchildren keep her grounded and keep her passionate about making a difference. She is grateful for this next challenge to serve God and Country

Darlene Marino - Humber Valley Regional Chair
Darlene Marino has been an active member of the Catholic Woman’s League since 2012. Over the past twelve years Darlene has held several executive positions including CWL President, Past President at Immaculate Conception Parish, Regional Education and Health Chair, Humber Valley Region Chair from 2017-2019, TDC Resolutions Sub Convener 2022-2024 and currently Humber Valley Region Chair 2024-2026.
While friends were retiring, Darlene’s exuberant energy and passion to help small businesses drove her to start her own consulting practice. She is a successful supply chain consultant, a certified business/leadership coach and a certified woman’s business enterprise through WBE Canada. She is a mentor to small, women-owned businesses in Atlantic Canada and coaches international supply chain students.
Darlene and her husband John have been married for 22 years and live in Maple, Ontario.
Darlene is looking forward to being Humber Valley Region’s Chair once again. Her goal is to help CWL members learn more about the League, through leadership and mentoring, and to become more confident in saying “yes” to the call.

Diane Olmstead - North York Regional Chair
Diane has been an active member of the St. Justin Martyr (Unionville) Council since 2006. She has served as secretary, 2nd Vice-President, President Elect and President during the pandemic and is currently Past President. Diane has been involved in all aspects and activities of the council. Among her achievements is leading the team in the development of the council’s policy and procedure manual. Diane is proud to be able to mentor members of the executive and values the many friendships formed over the years.
Diane is retired, after a 35 year career in hospital IT and project management. She is thankful for the ongoing support of her husband Jim and son Kevin.

Martha Whelton - Northern Regional Chair
Martha grew up in Ottawa and moved to Alliston in order to begin her teaching career. She joined the League in 1999 when friends told her it was “the right thing for Catholic Women to do”. Her parish, St. Paul the Apostle, had a very active Council and she has never looked back!
Over the years, within her own Council, she has held several roles including President. She held the Spiritual Development Chair position with the Northern Region from 2021 to 2023.
Her many travels have left her in awe of God's imagination and the wonder of His creation! One of her favorite trips was walking the Camino back in 2008; something she suggests everyone who is able to, should do.

Ana Mendoza - Peel Regional Chair
Ana was born in Ixtlan Del Rio, Nayarit, Mexico, the oldest of 6 children. At the age of 12, she immigrated to the USA where she attended High School. During the summer break, she worked in the fields with her family harvesting produce until she graduated from High School.
After graduation Ana went to work for The United Farm Workers of America, where she met Pierre Gagnon and married in May 1992. They were blessed with 2 children, Andres (deceased) and Paulina who is also a CWL member and an executive officer at St. Anne’s Council. Workwise, Ana has worked at the Region of Peel for 25 years in various departments, currently, at the Recovery Unit.
Ana has lived in Brampton since 1996 and is a parishioner at St. Anne’s Church. She has been involved with the Parish social committee, Parish Council Committee, Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Parish Finance Committee and Youth Ministry.
Ana’s CWL journey began in 2008 when she attended a spiritual retreat at the Council and was invited to join the League by the President Elect at the time. Since then, Ana has organized spiritual retreats for the Council, was Hospitality Convenor, President Elect, Council President, Past President and Treasurer. At Peel Regional level, Ana was Health and Education Chair and ran the Peel Mary Matthews Speech Contest. Ana acts as a mentor to council members. Ana looks forward to serving the League as Peel Region Chair.

Gwyneth Faustin - Scarborough Regional Chair
Gwyneth (Gwen) Faustin immigrated to Canada from Trinidad 22 years ago. Gwen works in the healthcare field a
nd particularly enjoys interacting with the elderly. She is also very active in her parish, holding several positions such as Eucharistic Minister, Lector, president of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society St. Aidan Conference, and Coordinator of the parish collection counters. Additionally, she is on the social committee for the parish.
Gwen joined the CWL St. Aidan council in 2010. She has held the position of President for two terms (2014-2015 and 2018-2019) and has also served in other executive roles such as Christian Family Life, Past President/Historian and Organization Chair. At the Scarborough Regional Level, she held the position of Christian Family Life and Spiritual Development Chair. Gwen is a dedicated advocate for the CWL and has consistently devoted her time to leading, supporting, and mentoring others in the League. Gwen is looking forward to serving as Scarborough Region Chair on the Toronto Diocesan Council.

Agnes Passee - Toronto Regional Chair
Agnes immigrated to Canada in 1981 from Grenada. She is the mother of two sons and two daughters, a grandmother and great grandmother.
Agnes’ passion is spending time with her family and always developing her faith life to grow spiritually into a deeper relationship with God. Her journey began when a friend invited her to a CWL meeting and Agnes became inspired. As an observer, she listened and became very interested in becoming a member. At the parish level she held the office of president and loved every minute. While keeping herself involved with her family life, Agnes would make time to interact with other CWL parish councils’ faith activities and events.
Agnes became the Spiritual Development/ Faith Chair for the Toronto Region from 2019-2024. She has now accepted and welcomes the challenges in this next chapter of her CWL journey as Regional Chair. Agnes is looking forward to learning from and working with such strong, courageous and faithful women. Agnes is prepared for this amazing journey!
